Kazuo Matsui represented an exciting signing for the New York Mets in 2004. Unfortunately, Kaz's abilities never lived up to the expectations and so Omar finally made a move today, sending Matsui to the Rockies for C/1B/OF Eli Marrero. The Rockies have sent Kaz down to Triple-A and the Mets will continue to pay his salary. It's believed that the Rockies will want Matsui back at shortstop rather than 2B. I hope the Rocky Mountain air helps Kaz revitalize his career.
